Planning

After analyzing my survey results, i have started planning for the basic designs of my front cover which includes Title, Color Theme and other parts of  the cover like the contents and the main picture.
For the title, i am trying to find such a name which covers all types of music as my survey results suggested me to make it an all sort of music magazine. I have not much options to choose with. After a journey of long thoughts, i ended up with a name, MusikA, in which "A" reflects ALL.
After this, i decided about the color scheme of the front cover. As it was an All Music Magazine, so its a good idea to use universal colors on the cover. So i used black, white, red and green.
My survey results also suggested me to include maximum part of the contents on the front cover, so i implemented this idea and included the headlines of the content on the front cover.

Just an initial try

Just a rough try after learning photoshop and prepared a front cover !! 

My friends appreciated my effort but still that looked too conventional to me, so i decide to put some more effort and go for a new front cover.

Research and Analysis

The Title is simple "MUSIC" and covers all sorts of music as does the party music and so was i trying. I was trying to cover all aspects of the music and a magazine having a title like this is a good example to analyse. The front cover although do not cover the contents of the magazine but the subtitles on the cover describes that the magazine covers the Irish music. Moreover, the cover contains a picture of some popular Irish music band, so the cover looks so crowded that it does not look suitable to push in more and more part of the content, so the designer has kept it simple and it looks good.
The font style used are very simple and the font size has been kept large. The font colours used are the basic colours like red, yellow and white. The overall colour theme of the cover also consists of some basic colours and tries to reflect the Irish music culture.
Basically the title of this magazine helped me out of how can i can cover all sorts of music in such a simple manner.

Research and Analysis

The Title of the magazine "ispin" reflects the genre of the music covered in this magazine. It reflects this magazine as a party music magazine, same as i decided earlier, this boost up my idea of making my magazine as a party music magazine. The picture used looks like of a party DJ which again reflects the idea of party music. Also the front cover contains some contents of the magazine, this will tell the reader in a glance, a summary of whats inside the magazine.
The major part of the font colour is white which is considered as a universal colour and can be used anywhere so there is nothing special about it. The font style is somewhat stylish and looks unique. The overall colour scheme of the cover is a combination of red and black so that it looks like a party music magazine.
Analysis of this front cover helped me learn a lot.

Planning the genre of my magazine

The decision of what kind of music magazine i am going to make is a crucial one. I am trying to target a bigger portion of the audience so i made it as a party music magazine as my target audience is looking more intrested in club paties etc, so it is a good idea to have a party DJ picture as a front cover.

I am also going to conduct a further research on my target audience (16-24 yrs) to get a more precise idea of what would attract my audience the most.

Moreover, i am also continuing to try more experiments with Adobe Photoshop 7.0 to have as much controlled hand on it as possible.
